James V. (Jimmy) Carlson, 81, of Ft. Lupton, passed away February 13, 2013 at his home. He was born November 26, 1931 in Calipatira, CA to Albert and Beulah (Durland) Carlson. He attended school at Hazeltine Elementary School and Denver School for the Blind. He married Mary Denton on September 23, 1961 in Henderson.
He was a third generation farmer where he lived off 124th Avenue in Henderson for almost 30 years, before moving north of Ft. Lupton to have his own farm. He remained in the Ft. Lupton area for the next 50 years. Jimmy collected tractors; both models and farm tractors. He was also a member of the Tractor Club.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Mary of Ft. Lupton; two sons, James Jr. of Ft. Lupton and Michael (Connie) of Brighton; sisters, Hattie McCoy of Brighton and Judy Minard of Texas; brother, Robin Carlson of Montana; four grandchildren, Jennifer, James III, Michael Jr. and Nancy.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents; one sister, Barbara and one brother, John, both in 1993.
