James “Jim†Edward Roberts, 72, of 1203 Mountain Road, Martinsville, VA died Friday, May 25, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 3, 1940 in Kimball, WV to the late James Roberts and Myrtle Belcher Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Roberts. Mr. Roberts was of the Methodist faith and served in the U. S. Army 82nd Air Bourne. He was a manager and vice-president of the Patrick Henry National Bank of Bassett, VA. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Earp Roberts of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri Roberts St. Pierre and Rick St. Pierre of Roanoke, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, James E. “Jamey†Roberts, II and Crystal Roberts of Riner, VA and Jon Curry Roberts and Lisa Roberts of Bassett, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth “Libby†Vandevander and Gene Vandevander of Kimball, WV; grandchildren, Richard A. St. Pierre, Jon Nicholas St. Pierre, Kamryn J. Roberts and James “Traye†E. Roberts, III and sister-in-law, Pat Roberts of Charleston, WV.
