James Douglas “Jim” Mineer, 88, of Morehead, formerly of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at his home after an extended illness.

Jim was born March 10, 1925, in Fleming County to the late J. Clifton & Anna Laura Carpenter Mineer. Mr. Mineer retired from Fleming Mason Energy as an electrical engineer after 40 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church and the Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Jim proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a Sergeant.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Thelma Timmons “Sis” Mineer, an infant son James Douglas Mineer, brother George Mineer, his parents and a nephew Dale Mineer.

Survivors include his wife Sada Marshall Ravenscraft Mineer whom he married on November 10, 2007; step-children, Jerry Ravenscraft, Allen Ravenscraft and Julie Ginter; Nieces and Nephew, Vickie (Mark) Gray, Debbie (Gary) Follmer – Fraley, Rickie Mineer; Several great nieces and nephews and several step-grandchildren.
