James “Jim” Clayton Gilbert, 79, of Greenwood, SC, formerly of Good Hope Community, Harrison County, WV, died July 31, 2022 at home. He was born July 28, 1943 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Charles R Gilbert and Lasora M Martin Gilbert. His wife Naoma Gilbert whom he married May 27, 1967 survives. Mr. Gilbert has one brother Carroll R. Gilbert of Alabama.  Also surviving is his daughter, Lacinda (Cindy) Gilbert Scott and his son-in-law, Kenneth Scott of Greenwood, SC, and two grandchildren. James (Jim) was a graduate of Unidis High School, Class of 1962. He joined the Army in July 1962, did a thirteen-month tour of duty in Korea and became a company clerk while stationed in Korea. Reassigned to Fort Benning, GA and trained with a unit preparing for duty in Vietnam. Jim was a Vietnam Era Veteran.  He was employed eighteen years at Anchor Hocking Glass Company in Clarksburg. Mr. Gilbert moved to Greenwood, SC in 1988. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
