James J. Kinst, 85, of Three Oaks, Michigan, and formerly of New Buffalo, Michigan, died peacefully at this home Friday morning, May 28, 2010. Jim was born October 10, 1924 in New Buffalo, Michigan to James and Mary (Vrzal) Kinst and graduated from New Buffalo High School. He served his country in the U.S Army during WWII. Jim was employed as a foreman for the C and O Railroad in New Buffalo before his retirement.

On January 6, 1999 he married Judy Davis in Three Oaks. Jim enjoyed taking rides in the country and was known for his Practical Jokes. He loved animals, especially his special friend, Roxie. Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughters, Marcia (Brian) Snelling of LaPorte, Indiana; Brenda Davis of Buchanan, Michigan; Judith (Mike) Kinst of Union Pier, Michigan and Linda (Joe Ballard) Reitz of Three Oaks; granddaughters, Yonna Reitz and Dana Schoemaker; great grandchildren, Allison and Austin; and his sister, Anna Krycka of New Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delphine Kamont Kinst.
