James J. Clayton, 94, of Toms River, NJ died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Rose Garden in Toms River. Born in Trenton, NJ he was a longtime resident of Hamilton Township moving to Toms River 7 years ago. He was a decorated veteran of the US Army Air Corps proudly serving during World War II. James worked as a Corrections Officer at the Mercer County Correction Center.
He was active in the Fraternal Order of Police, Trout Unlimited and the American Legion Post 129, Toms River, NJ. Predeceased by his wife Vincenza (Spera) and his daughter Jo Ann Gravener. He is survived by his daughter Susan Hibbard of Toms River, 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
