Mr. Herb Prevatt, 78, of Newnan passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born March 9, 1936, in Ocala, FL to the late Walter Prevatt & Bernice Pinner Prevatt.
Herb grew up in Ocala and was a graduate of the University of Florida and was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. After his service, he began a successful real estate development and construction business that he ran for 42 years.
Survivors include wife, Margaret Ann Prevatt of Newnan; children, Tina Carpenter & husband Michael of Newnan, James Prevatt, II of Jacksonville, FL; step-children, Monica Gerow & husband John of Richmond, VA, John Golden of Farmville, VA; sister, Jerry Wagner & Husband Lee of Destin, FL; grandchildren, Juliann Carpenter of Newnan, Jessica Whitaker of Newnan; great-grandchild, Kolton Whitaker; numerous nieces and nephews.
