Mr. James Henry Smith, 66, a resident of Britthaven of Kannapokis, formerly of 2408 Williams St., died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at North East Medical Center, Concord.
Mr. Smith was born January 11, 1939, in Toombs County, Georgia, to the union of James L. and Alice Miller Smith. He was a graduate fo William Penn High School, where he excelled as a football player. He was an avid reader, and loved music and traveling. Mr. Smith served his country in the United States Army, from which he retired. His mother, two brother, and a sister, all preceded him in death.
Surviving relatives include, his father, Mr. James “McNeil” Smith, of High Point; three brothers, James “Shorty” Smith and wife JoAnn, of Philadelphia, Pa., Levoise Smith, and Chenner Smith and wife Mary, all of High Point; two sisters, Angelia Sturdivant and husband James, and Cassandra Spencer, all of High Point; a host of other relatives and friends.
