James Glenn “Jim” Jacob, 89, of Pomona Park, passed from this life on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach following an extended illness. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, Jim served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He moved to Putnam County in 1954 and retired from the powerhouse Division of Georgia Pacific following over 40 years of service. Jim was a member of the Grange and the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Daytona Beach. In his younger years, he was involved in the Bass Capital Track Club. He enjoyed bird watching, singing, playing cards, genealogy, and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Fern Jacob, a daughter, Janice Ann Jacob, his parents, John and Ruth Jacob, a brother, John “Jack” Jacob, 2 sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Caldwell and Genevieve Mills, and a grandson, Ewald Lambugari (AKA Greg Fick).

Jim is survived by his children, John Maxson Jacob (Tina) of LaVergne, TN, Marian Ruth Fick (Ewald) of Port Orange, Mark Henry Jacob ( Carla) of Houma, LA, and Matthew Worth Jacob(Carolyn) of Carraway, 11 grandchildren, Steven Jacob, Douglas Polk, Katrina Leonard (Scott), Rachel Jacob (Faith), Victoria Fick, William Fick (Samantha), Daniel Jacob (Lauren), Jennifer Lebouef (Eric), Brooke Jacob, Timothy Jacob, and Toriana Jacob, 10 great-grandchildren, Jessie Lebouef, Jordyn Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Jacob Fick, Jacob Taylor, Noah Taylor, Hannah Taylor, Sarah Fick, Seth Fick, and Harper Fick, Shawn Polke and Timothy Polke and a great-great-grandson, Kody Leonard.
