Gary Shirley, age 77, passed away June 23, 2020. He was the son of the late Margaret and Grady Shirley of Northport and was preceded in death by his brother, Wendell Shirley. He is survived by his siblings, Hilary Shirley, Mark Shirley (Jane), and Carol Booth (Randy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gary had a brilliant mind for all things mechanical and could do anything with his hands, whether it be building engines and race cars to restoring antique tractors. When not busy working in his shop, Gary loved spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. Gary also had a heart for animals; his cat and final companion Elsie will surely miss him. Fondly remembered for his quick wit and humor, Gary will be missed by family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his sister, Carol Booth, for all the love and care she provided over the last several years.
