James G. Lindsey, Jr., 36, of McCordsville, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 25, 1976, in Indianapolis to the late James G. Lindsey, Sr. and Nawana (Dillard) Lindsey.
James was a 1994 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School before attending Purdue University and Ivy Tech. He worked as a Payroll Support Specialist at MS Companies. He attended Outlook Christian Church, loved nature, practiced yoga and was a Certified Storm Spotter.
James was a dedicated mason and was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on June 11th, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on September 10th and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on September 24th of 1998 at Pentalpha Lodge #564 F. & A. M., where he would go on to serve as Worshipful Master. He also served as Worshipful Master of Logan Lodge #575 F. & A. M., was a member in good standing of Broadripple Lodge #643 F. & A. M. and was previously affiliated with both Lynhurst Lodge #723 F. & A. M. and Century Lodge #764 F. & A. M. James Masonic path led him to the positions of Illustrious Master of Indianapolis Council No. 2, High Priest of Indianapolis Chapter No. 5 and Eminent Commander of Raper Commandery No. 1 within the York Rite bodies. In addition, he at once belonged to the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Sahara Grotto. Of particular note was James’ active role in the foundation of Imhotep Allied Masonic Degree Council #434 in Indianapolis, for whom he was elected as its Sovereign Master.
He is survived by his wife Sabrina (Buckley) Lindsey, whom he married on July 21, 2007; brothers Gary of Plainfield and Daniel (Lillian) of TX; niece Courtney (Alex) Lindsey Odom of Indianapolis; and mother-in-law Norma Wedding Buckley of Connersville.
