James Franklin “Jim” Butts, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2016 at his residence.
Jim was born on March 7, 1936 to Lester and Jane Butts in Terre Haute. He attended Garfield High School, graduating in 1954. Jim proudly served his nation in the Army and with the Terre Haute Police Department from 1960-1988, where he was a Lieutenant and worked as a detective. Jim married Emilita Anderson on February 16, 1960. The couple had two children, Jimmy and Rhonda.
Jim enjoyed fishing, music, singing and playing the piano.
