James F. Shook, 81, of 920 Main Street, South Williamsport, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Sycamore Manor.

Jim’s first wife, the former Edna M. Holmes, died March 15, 1986 and his second wife, the former Mary E. Hummer, died Feb. 25, 2004.

Jim was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1, VFW Post 7863, National Rifle Association and a life member of the National Wildlife Association. Jim also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Born Feb. 4, 1930 in Williamsport, he was the son of Frederick and Glenna McConnell Shook.

Surviving are sons, James A. (Tina) of Harrisburg and Brian J. (Laura) of South Williamsport; a brother Herbert W. (Patricia) of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother-in-law, William E. Sitler of Nisbet; grandchildren, Adam, Joseph, Kevin (Sarah) and Holly Shook and great grandchildren, Chloe and Logan Shook.

Jim was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Sitler.
