James Francis “Jim” Dailey of Plymouth passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 9, 2022, at the age of 75. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Gregory) Dailey; loving father of Torri Dailey of Plymouth, Gregory Dailey and his wife Janine of Plymouth, and Mark Dailey and his wife Sarah of Plymouth; cherished “Papa/Grampa” of Campbell, Kenley, Liam, Greyson, Seamus, Harper, Kellan, and Bennett Dailey; treasured brother to Ron Dailey and his wife Susan of Raynham, Robin Perera and her husband Michael of Sherborn, and the late John Dailey. He leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family and was born on December 1, 1946, in Boston to the late Harold and Helen (Kelly) Dailey. He graduated from Weymouth High School, class of 1965. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he honorably served our country in Korea as an artilleryman during the Vietnam War era. Jim worked as a Foreman in the Department of Public Works for the City of Weymouth for 36 years. He was an avid New England sports fan and was particularly fond of the Patriots and Red Sox. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing. During his earlier years, Jim coached his sons’ Little League baseball teams and later enjoyed watching his grandchildren on the field. Jim enjoyed going on cruises, camping, and spending time at the beach, especially Duxbury Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama.
