James Eugene Turner, 63, left this life on November 6, 2012 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, after an extended illness. He was born on November 23, 1948 in Anderson to Marion Turner, and Travella “Valetta” Morgan Burton.
He was raised in Anderson, and lived in Indiana and Oklahoma off and on. He last worked at Mills Amusements in Anderson and was currently on disability retirement. He is a past member of the Veterans of Madison County.
He is survived by his wife, Clara McCormick Turner. Six children; Mathew Turner and Toni Brantlinger of Anderson, Michael Filbrun, Kelly Pitts, Yolanda and Stacy Turner of Indiana. Seven Grandchildren; Christopher, Justin and Leanna Turner, Coty and Dylan Davis, Kara and Katie Filbrun. and Kelly’s children Brother; Steven Turner, Sisters; Sandy Centers, Cheryl Fippen, Patsy Jo Turner, all of Anderson. Brother and sister in-laws; James and Cooper McCormick, Uncle John Cox, and Aunt Mary Brown. Also, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, father in-law, Jim McCormick, mother in-law, Donnie McCormick, brother in-laws, Cletus Fippen, Kenny McCormick, and Billy McCormick and four grandchildren.
