Mr. James Edward Boyd, Sr., 80, a resident of 900 Barbee Ave., died Monday, May 2, 2005, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Mr. Boyd was born September 29, 1924 in Lancaster County, S.C., a son of Robert P. and Amanda Perry Boyd, who both preceded him in death. A graduate of William Penn High School, he continued his education at Guilford Technical Community College, Jamestown, where he studied Heating & Air Conditioning. He served a tour of duty in the United States Navy, and was of the Protestant faith. A son, James E. Boyd, Jr., and three brothers, all preceded him in death.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Edna S. Boyd, of the home; one daughter, Thierrette (Melvin) Terry of High Point; devoted grandsons, Burnice E. Boyd of the home and Melvin Terry, III of High Point; two granddaughters, Veronica Terry and Sherrita Terry, both of High Point; three great grandchildren, Ashlee Wragg of Georgetown, S.C., Ladayisa Boyd and Ja’quez James Boyd, both of High Point; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
