James Edward Batory, 84, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on January 21, 2015.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 28, 1930. He served in the Korean War. He was one of a kind and will be remembered as loving, kind, funny, and smart. He would talk to and befriend anyone he met. He was loved by many here in the Valley, back in Illinois where he moved from in 1989 and by those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, parents Jacob and Anne Batory, siblings Marie, Francis, Joseph Chruszczyk, Rose Kolasar, and Eleanor Sweiss. He is survived by brother Anthony and sister Florence Dudczyk, niece Lorraine Schaefer; his children Therese Lentz, late Lawrence (Linda), James (Lynn), Mary Anne (Lawrence) Bragg, Christine Erwin, Kenneth, and Catherine (Steve) Wasylenko, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by Jacki Kahkonen who has loved and cared for him for many years.
