James E. VanHeeren, 68, of Lena, died New Year’s Day, Saturday, January 1, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer.
Born April 21, 1942 in Freeport he was the son of George and Margaret (Laborde) VanHeeren. He married Pat Osterberger October 27, 1990.
James worked 38 years at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company.
Surviving is his wife, Pat; his mother, Margaret Henze; his daughters, Karen Hybarger and Crystal Lawrence; his sons, Mike (Beth) Eggemeier, Brad Blair, and Douglas (Nancy) VanHeeren 1 brother, Harold (Sharon) VanHeeren; 3 grandsons, Ian Hybarger, Jacob Eggemeier, and Zakk Hybarger; 3 sister in-laws, Sylvia Arner, Mary (Ken) Howard, Marcia (Bob) Edler; 3 brother in-laws, Jim (Cathy) Osterberger, John (Cheri) Osterberger and Bob (Cathy) Osterberger; many nieces and nephews; Lucy and Tiny his loving pets.
He was preceded in death by his father; and “The Peach” his beloved dog.
