James E. ”Ed” DeLong, 76, Anderson, died March 23, 2003 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana and went to be with his wife of 38 years, Gertrude Brown Delong. He was born June 1, 1926 in Paintsville, Kentucky, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area since 1990. He was an independent laborer working with hardwood flooring. He served his country in the US Army during WWII receiving a Victory Medal. He loved to work crossword puzzles. He is survived by his Two Sons: Larry DeLong of Louisiana. Mike & wife Misty DeLong of Columbus, Ohio. Eight Stepchildren: Linda & husband Arthur Fite of Anderson. Bill & wife Christine Davidson of Louisiana. Loyce & husband Charlie Madden of Kentucky. Gary Davidson of Anderson. Darrell & wife Georgia Davidson of Kingman. Junior Davidson of Louisiana. Randy & wife Vicki Davidson of Anderson. Johnny & wife Tracy Davidson of Anderson. 44 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. One Brother: Mr. & Mrs. Arlan DeLong of Paintsville, Kentucky. One Sister: Thelma DeLong of Paintsville, Kentucky. Several Nieces & Nephews. Special Friend: Linda Fox. He was preceded by his wife of 38 years: Gertrude Brown DeLong on December 16, 2000. His parents: James & Evie Setser DeLong. Two Brothers: Elmer DeLong & Alton DeLong. Special Friend: Ethel Smith.
