James “Jim” E. Attmore, 84 loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle of Terre Haute passed peacefully on the morning of March 3, 2016. He was born on April 7, 1931 in Terre Haute to Joseph and Helen Huebel Attmore. Jim was retired from Attmore Refrigeration.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years Virginia “Ginny” Akers Attmore. Other survivors include two daughters Kris Harrison and her husband Mike of Brunswick, ME and Lori Attmore of Terre Haute, grandson Nickolas Nakano of Escondido, CA and sister Joanne Kostyo of Terre Haute: sister-in-law, Barbara Smith: as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a mother and father-in-law Hannah Hawkins Akers and Paul Akers.
Jim graduated from Wiley High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD.
