James Douglas “Doug†Jones, Sr., 81, of Danville, VA died peacefully on March 18, 2011 at Maple Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, NC. Born on October 24, 1929 in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late Beverly White Jones and the late Annie Mahan Jones. Doug was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a home builder and developer for 50 years and an active member of both the Danville and National Home Builders Associations. Doug was also a member of North Main Baptist Church. Doug was also a veteran and spent several of his younger years in the Air Force in which he was very proud.
