James Donald Wood, 86, passed away on Tuesday June 20, 2017 in Seymour. He was a long-time resident of Whiteland. He was born on Feb. 26, 1931 in Greenwood, Indiana to Garner and Viola (Teltoe) Wood. James married Velma Morris,she preceded in him in death in December of 2015 after 61 years of marriage.
He was employed as a plant manager at Allison. James was a charter member of the Jubilee Lodge 746- Whiteland, for 50 years. He was Master Mason at the Greenwood Lodge 514 in 1960 and Master of the Lodge (514) in 1966.
James loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and enjoyed playing golf.
Survivors include two children, Steven R. (Faye) Wood of Indianapolis and Cathy L. (Greg) Reasoner of Seymour; two brothers, Dick (Debbie) Wood and Mike (Kathy) Wood, both of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Nicole Nikirk, Darcy Wood, Stephanie (David) Kaye, Natalie Wood and Derek Wood and two great-grandchildren, Lucy Nikirk and Dawson Kaye.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Wood, his parents, Garner and Viola (Teltoe) Wood, two brothers, Garner Wood Jr. and Carl Wood and a sister, Imogene Murphy.
