Coffman, James Lee Born to Eternal Life on Saturday March 12, 2011 at the age of 86 years. Son of the late Olive Rose Coffman and Archie Glenn Coffman. Beloved husband of Cecilia (nee Palcich). Loving father of Linda Jean (Vincents) Dindzans and Brenda Marie (John) Hagni. Dear grandfather of Andra (Greg), Karlis, and Viktors Dindzans, Heather , Bianca, and the late Garrett Hagni. Dear brother of Sue Anne Allman, Judith C. Dunham, the late John G. Coffman, the late Ilene Rose Fisher and the late Gretchen Ruth Coffman. Further survived by other relatives and friends. James graduated from Washington-Irving High School in 1942 where he was well known for his athletic abilities as captain of the basketball team. Later in life, he distinguished himself with medals in basketball in the Maryland Senior Olympics for foul shooting and in billiards. He graduated from West Virginia University , (B.S. Business Administration ,1948) and from George Washington University Business School, (M.S. Personnel Administration, 1970) . For many years he was an employee of GEICO and later the Social Security Administration. James was a veteran of WWII where he served in the Army as a PFC machine gunner during the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the United States Air Force Reserve in 1984 as Major James L. Coffman and received a special citation and Award of the Headquarters Command for his contributions in the field of Administrative Management at Bolling Air Force Base. Jim had an infectious laugh and loved to sing with family and friends. One of his favorites was The White Cliffs of Dover… . “The Shepherd Will tend His Sheep and Jimmy will go to sleep”… We know that because of your faith in Jesus you are in a place of… . “love and laughter and peace ever after” where we will see you and sing together again some day.
