Mr. James Clark, Sr., 93, a resident of 7226 East Fork Rd., died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at High Point Regional Hospital.

Mr. Clark was born July 19, 1911 in Surry County, a son of the late Rufus and Dora Dearmon Clark. Coming from Mt. Airy, he lived most of his adult life in High Point. An outdoorsman, he loved fishing and was formerly employed with Lindley Nurseries of Greensboro for more than fifty years. He was a member of Turner’s Chapel A.M.E. Church, where he faithfully served as a steward. His parents, two sisters, and one brother, all preceded him in death.

Surviving relatives include his loving wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Roebuck Clark, of the home; one son, James Clark Jr. and wife Lucetta, of Bellevue, Nebraska; one daughter, Annette C. Cooper and husband Phillip Sr., of Greensboro; six grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Clark of Las Vegas, Nevada; six sisters, Yvonne Fudge, of Orlando, Florida, Dorothy Lewis and husband Colon, of Thomasville, North Carolina, Edith Siddle, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Beatrice Walker, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Geraldine Fields, of Pennsylvania, and Ida Bell Coles and husband Booker T., of High Point, North Carolina; other relatives and friends.
