You are the sunshine that warms our hearts
He was a passionate man and he lived a passionate life. He was passionate about his career, his music, his yard, and the things he believed in. He loved God, his country, and his family immeasurably. He taught his children from a young age what it meant to believe in something bigger than them and to believe in themselves. He inspired them to reach their fullest potential. He was incredibly proud of his
kids even when perhaps they didn’t feel that way. There were countless times when complete strangers would come up and tell them how much their dad bragged about them.
He adored his grandchildren too. Though he didn’t get to spend as much time as he would have loved with them and didn’t have the opportunity to meet his youngest grandson in person, he couldn’t get enough of seeing them. Whether it was pictures, phone calls, or video chats over Skype, his face would just light up with unfiltered joy every time.
He also loved his dog, Vivian, with a passion. There was such a level of mutual affection, you couldn’t help but smile when you saw them together. They were the best of friends and he spoiled her to excess!
He was always there – rain or shine, night or day. He was always a phone call away to change a flat tire, fix a broken water pipe, or move furniture. He hardly ever complained about it… except for moving furniture!
He always strove for excellence in all he did. He was constantly working to improve his attitude, his bad habits, and his outlook on life. Most admirably, when he would fall, as we all do, he would always pick himself up and try, try again.
James Cheffy was truly an inspiration to every person who was blessed to come into contact with him. He will be deeply missed but the tears we shed are only until we meet again. He is survived by his wife, Diane Cheffy; his three children, Justin, Cerissa, and Taylin; as well as three grandchildren, Zane, Skyelynn, and Riddick.
