James Jordan, 71, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in his Waterbury, CT home.

James was born in Conway, South Carolina on September 12, 1950. His parents are Cassie Mae (Harps) Jordan and the late Fred Jordan. At the age of 18, he moved to Danbury, CT, and started what became a wonderful life. One of the things he loved to do was gardening and playing a few instruments. He was in a small Jazz band in his younger years where he played bass guitar and the flute. James did many things when it came to working but his career was being a machinist at Barden’s Corporation for over 20 years. In his downtime, he was a diehard athlete, especially softball. He started off playing for many leagues along with his younger brother LJ. He then went on to coach for all ages. He absolutely loved the game and thoroughly enjoyed teaching the sport and just having fun as well. Eventually, he settled into umpiring and running tournaments for many years. Outside of all of this, James was a big family man.

He leaves behind his wife Nadia of Bodmin, England, and her family. Brother, Francis, and wife Terry (Tucson, Arizona). Brother, Eldwin “LJ” and wife Julia (New Fairfield, CT). His Aunt: Savannah Smith (Conway, SC). His daughter Tabitha and husband Rodney (Charleston, SC). His daughter: Jesslyn Monique Jordan (Portland, CT). His two sons’: James Michael Jordan (West Des Moines, IA) and Jeffrey Matthew Jordan (Waterbury, CT).

Mr. James Jordan touched the lives of many throughout his life. If you ever wondered where he was on the weekend, you would almost always find him down at Rogers Park Softball Fields. He had a very kind heart, a smile that made you feel at home, and always seemed to have the right thing to say. He was a great educator, father, brother, and son. Words can’t describe how truly missed he will be.

We love you James.
