James “Jimmy” C. Kirkpatrick, 84 of Lakeland, died December 17, 2012 due to complications of a stroke. James was born March 10, 1928 to Eldridge and Naomi Kirkpatrick and was a life-long resident of Lakeland. James is a WWII Navy Veteran and a former 30 year member of the Lions Club. He was also an avid golfer whose accomplishments included four hole-in-ones and shooting his age since age 77. James was employed as a salesman, then manager with Lamar Outdoor Advertising for over twenty years. After his leaving Lamar, he continued his career in sales and was currently employed with Jenkins-Lincoln with over twenty-eight years of employment. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean in 1996 and a son, Ricky Kirkpatrick. James is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Richard) Davis of Lakeland; his son, Tracy (Rusty) Kirkpatrick of Lakeland; his sister, Mary Rhykerd; his brother in law, Preston Hall; his four grandchildren, Robin Barnett, Richard Barnett, Jordan Davis and Mike Kirkpatrick and his five great grandchildren.
