James C. Fink, 83, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at his residence.

He was born May 11, 1938, in Lafayette, to the late Fred and Nellie (Fleenor) Fink.

Following graduation from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1957, Jim proudly served in the Marine Corp. from November 1, 1957 until being honorably discharged on October 31, 1961.

On November 9, 1963, he married Linda Wayland in Lafayette and she survives.

Jim owned the Texaco Station at Main and Earl in Lafayette from 1964 until 1972. He then worked construction. Jim retired from Eli Lilly and Company after 20 plus years, starting as a mill wright and retiring as a powerhouse technician in 1994.

He had a love of animals and enjoyed working outside and was always tinkering and fixing something.

Surviving along with his wife are three children, Chuck (Angie) Fink and Niki (Rick) De Armond both of Lafayette and Andrew (Brandi) Fink of Dayton, as well as a brother, Fred Fink, Jr. of Lafayette. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Sierra (Jarrett) James, Makayla (Bailey) Landis, Micah and Judah Fink, Brittney Holderfield, Tyler Miller and Kayla (Jackson) Cochran along with two great grandchildren on the way.

James was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Fink and a brother, John Fink.
