James Calvin “Jim” Cook, age 92, passed to our heavenly father on Friday, May 13, 2016.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eileen, and his five children, John (Linda) Cook, Susan (Jack) Sexton, Ken (Cyndi) Cook; Jane Ward; and Rita Cook. Jim had also been blessed with 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The third of eight children, he is also survived by sisters Mary Leah Kennedy and Goldie Kitchens and brother Lowell Cook, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Jim was born on August 19, 1923, in Stonington, Illinois, to parents Roscoe Hue and Mary
White Cook. He entered the Army to fight in WWII in the Pacific, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.
First and foremost, Jim was a loving family man and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his large, extended family and friends and keeping up with the grandkids’ activities.
