James Leland Bardsley passed away gently into God’s arms on December 21st, the day of the Winter Solstice and Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. James loved Astronomy! James was born on Halloween in 1952, in Mobile, Alabama. He and his family settled in Winslow, AZ when James was a young boy, and he moved to Flagstaff soon after his first son Chase was born. James has been blessed to have 3 children, Chase (wife Destiny and first grandson Micah), Tatum, and Ralph.

James is survived by his beloved and dedicated wife of 12 years, and his five sisters and brothers: Ann, Carol, Dee-Dee, Skip, and Sonny (Harold). James is an uncle to many nieces and nephews. His nephew Bobby was able to spend quality time in person with James over the past few years.

James was a Railroad Engineer out of Winslow for “Burlington Railroad” (later Santa Fe Railroad). He described his time as an engineer as his greatest accomplishment!

As a teenager, James loved to spend time at Clear Creek outside of Winslow, go swimming, climbing, and exploring. He loved to go fishing and to go camping at Chevlon nearby. James loved to feed the birds, play pool, and poker.

He was a member of Bridge Church in Flagstaff over the past few years and was baptized there in May 2018. He was grateful to his brothers and sisters at Bridge Church for their friendship, support, and compassion.

James was a tender, kind, and compassionate man. He was a good listener and dear friend. He will be dearly missed and loved by many for years to come.
