James Arby Jackson, Sr., a resident of Anderson, passed away on January 16, 2013 at Riverview Hospital of Noblesville after a brief illness.

He was born on August 30, 1933, in Troy, Alabama, and resided most of his life in Anderson. He retired for Marhoefer’s Packing Company in1975. James was one of Jehovah’s Witness and he volunteered to serve full time helping others learn the truth from the Bible. He also volunteered in the construction of Kingdom Halls mixing mortar.

He dedicated his life to serve God. He was a loving father, husband, and a friend to everyone.

Arby is survived by his wife, Frankie; daughters, Daneta Jackson and Theresa Leslie Patterson; and sons, Terry Jackson, Leroy Pamela Jackson and Melvin Denise McCullough; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arby was preceded in death by his mother, Robbie Lee Alloway Jackson; father, Frank Jitt Jackson Sr., sister, Julie Mae Jackson; daughter, Louise Jackson; son, Jimmie Lee Jackson; son, James Arby Jackson, Jr.; brother, Fred Douglas Jackson; and brother, Frank Jackson, Jr.
