James Allen “Jim” Dick, went into his new life July 21, 2011 after his courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born September 12, 1938 to John William Dick, Sr. and Louise Misner Dick in Anderson, and was a resident of Frankton for 40 years. He served in the US Navy upon graduating from Anderson Senior High School in 1956, and was stationed in Panama Canal Zone and Mayport, Florida. He and his wife attended Broward Junior College, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He retired from Frankton Building and Loan, as President and Chairman of the Board, where he served 25 years. He was presently employed as Administrative Assistant, Pendleton Correctional Facility, State of Indiana, where he completed service for 22 years in May. Jim was an active 43 year member of Central Christian Church, Anderson, where he served as Deacon, Elder, past Trustee and past member of the Board.

He was a member of Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge #77 F. & A.M. where he served as Master in 1974 to break ground for the new Lodge building, Valley of Scottish Rite, Indianapolis, and a dual member of the Order of Eastern Star, Radiant Noblesville Chapter 200 and Anderson Chapter 154 where he was recently installed as Associate Patron. In the past, he enjoyed sailing, which he learned to do while residing in Florida, and traveling. Most recently he enjoyed attending model railroading events as a member of the Miami Valley Model Railroaders Association and the local Anderson Model Railroaders Club.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, attending several national events, and enjoyed watching football and baseball, being a Chicago Clubs fan. One of his lifetime goals as a “landlocked sailor” was to travel around Cape Horn, South America, which he accomplished last year. He did live to greet his new granddaughter of four months. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Carol McClintic Dick whom he married at Central Christian Church of June 1, 1958; two children, James Andrew Dick Luci of Las Vegas, Nevada and Julie Andrea Wainwright Andrew of Rushville, Indiana; grandchildren, Trevor Allen Dick and MacKenzie Grace Dick of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Alex James Wainwright and Joshua Andrew Wainwright of Rushville, Indiana; two brothers, John William Dick Jr., Sandra and Frank Madison Dick II Patricia of Anderson; one brother-in-law, Dan Pfenning of Muncie; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Walter James McClintic Pauline, Richard W. McClintic Loretta and Sue Ann McClintic Pfenning.
