James A. Gotschall, 73 of Fairmount died Saturday July 18, 2015 at his residence.

Jim was an active member of the Fairmount community always wanting to give back. He was a member and past Master of the Fairmount Masonic Lodge Chapter #635, Scottish Rite Valley of Ft. Wayne, Mizpah Shrine Temple, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Grant County County Shrine Club of which he was the Vice-President. Grant County Scooter Patrol, and the Fairmount Order of Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Patron.

He was active in driving children to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital, Chicago and the Shriners Burner Center for Children in Cincinnati. He was a Volunteer at the Fairmount Historical Museum and was a former member of the Fairmount Lions Club and the former Fairmount Jaycees.

Jim graduated from Sweetser High School in 1959.

Jim was born August 17, 1941 in Marion, Indiana and was the son of John and Pauline (Ferguson) Gotschal. He later married his wife of 52 years Marsha (Whitcomb) November 10, 1962 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Marion, IN, she survives in Fairmount.

Jim is also survived by 2 sons; Mark (Cathy) Gotschall, Tipton, IN and Josh (Robin) Gotschall, Fairmount, IN and 2 grandchildren, Tera Gotschall and Justyce Thurber. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Lynn Swinney, October 6, 2010.
