Jalen “J Dogg” was born March 15, 2003, in Albuquerque New Mexico. He is survived by his mother, Angel; his siblings, Jovan, Khaliq, Ben, Serenity, Gavin, Uriah, Samiah, Jayla, Maria Luz, Jamari, Eric, Xavier, and Avaeya; stepfather, Warren Jordan; his grandparents, Joyce Phillips, Larry and Beki Phillips, Larry Gutierrez, Stephanie and Carlos Galaviz, Daniel and Lori Banda, Wesley and Marian Begay, and Nancy Lopez; great-grandparents, Lee Romero, Jose and Marian Gutierrez, Nelda Banda, and Carol Galaviz; his aunts, Makayla, Emily and Natayla; uncles, Josh, Eric, and Kevin; step-uncle, Albert; girlfriend, Destiny; many cousins, extended family, and many friends.
Jalen was preceded in death by his father, Larry Phillips; his great-grandmother, Patsy Romero; and great-great-grandparents.
Jalen attended Manzano High School and was a junior. His smile lit up any room! He was very close to his brothers, Jovan and Khaliq. Jalen was a talented athlete (football and track). Jalen was a very talented artist and loved to draw. Jalen enjoyed going to Conchas Lake with his grandpa Daniel. He learned good work ethic at an early age. Jalen liked to take apart anything and put it back together. Just to do it. Jalen was a jokester but knew when to be serious. He cared and loved everyone in his life, including the various animals that he was in contact with. Jalen always cared about everyone else first.
