Jaime (Jimmy) Alvarez passed away peacefully at the family home in Roswell, NM on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the age of 18, surrounded by those he loved most.

Jaime was born in Roswell, New Mexico on February 25, 2004 to Jaime (Jimmy) Alvarez and Ms. Chaves. Monica Montaño was present at birth and a mother figure for the first years of his life and their bond remained forever. His Tio Roy was a very special person in his life whom he shared an incredible bond with and who he very much respected and looked up to. Jaime grew up with his paternal family, grandparents Honorio and Maria Alvarez, uncle and aunt Sebastian and Anabel Avalos, and his two smaller cousins (sisters) Isabela and Analia Avalos. Jaime is preceded in death by his father Jaime Sr. and brothers, Anthony Archuleta and Angel Mireles.

Jaime was a lover of life and despite the many challenges that he had throughout his life he always had a positive attitude. He was a true warrior not letting anyone or anything get him down, one of God’s strongest soldiers.

The family would like to express their greatest gratitude to the Montaño family who were all there since day one and through the very end making his life so fulfilling with several fun experiences always looking to fulfill his every wish; Monica, Tio Roy, Tia Yolanda, Bette, William “Apa”, Molly, Mandy, Alex and Kristen Montaño. A special thanks to the Weir-Moores family who has always been there in our times of greatest need, the Kastner family who always made Jaime feel special and have been there in our times of need; and those who throughout the years enriched his life such as his hospice nurse Maureen DeNio, teachers Chris Thorsted, Sheri Gibson, and Bonnie Delamater, and his elementary school assistant Sharon Plummer.
