Jacqueline M. Renier, age 55, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 after a four year battle with breast cancer.

Jacqueline is survived by her dear partner of 18 years, Cynthia White. Beloved daughter of Evelyn Renier (Zorich) and the late Jack Renier. Loving sister of Mark and John (Vicky) Renier. Proud aunt of Nick, Trent and Grace Renier.

Jacqueline’s passion for art began at an early age. She noticed the beauty in all things around her. One of Jacqueline’s most cherished experiences from high school was her participation in an internship at Pilchuk Glass School. Jacqueline studied under the famous Dale Chihuly. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Art History at the University of Illinois.

For the next 30 years she managed several art galleries and most recently retired from Lotton Art Glass in Crete, IL where she worked for 15 years. She and artisan, Charles Lotton, would develop a longtime friendship during her tenure. Anyone close to Jacqueline knew her life passion for Charles’ work and she could captivate all with her in depth knowledge of glass blowing and the flame working process that goes into each piece. Cooking and gardening were her other favorite pastimes.

She was committed to creating all natural dishes which always included many trips to local markets to find the best ingredients – a trait passed down from her late father. She carried on the tradition of sharing her expression of love through food. Jacqueline was an animal lover. She had three cats and enjoyed spotting the abundant wildlife surrounding her home in Dyer, IN.
