Jacqueline A. Conklin, age 84, of Salem, died at 3:55 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Atkins Care Center in East Liverpool. She was born February 20, 1928 in Lock Haven, PA, the daughter of the late Stuarde C. P. and Dorothy (Richards) Mayes. Jacqueline was a 1946 graduate of Edinburg Cambia High School and received her Nursing Degree in 1949 at the Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. As a registered nurse, she worked at the former Hutton’s Nursing Home for 10 years and previously worked at the Salem Community Hospital. Jacqueline was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour. Her husband, Gerald C. Conklin, whom she married July 26, 1952, preceded her in death on April 12, 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Gail C. Richards of Salem and Melissa A. Arthur of Wellsville; a sister, Marlene Trois of North Walles, PA: two grandchildren, Daniel Lewis and April Paukner; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Kalab Fracasso, Austin Paukner and Braiden Paukner. A daughter, Dawn L. Cooper, also preceded her in death.
