Genevieve “Jackie” M. Garska, 93, longtime Ogallala resident, passed away peacefully on  November 4, 2022 at Green House at Mirasol in Loveland, CO.  
 
Jackie was born on April 15, 1929 in Perkins County, the daughter of Fred and Hazel  (Peak) Fosbinder. She received her education in Perkins County. After graduation, she received her teaching certificate from Kearney Teachers College. She taught kindergarten through eighth grade in rural Perkins County.

On January 12, 1948 Jackie married Max Garska in Grant, NE. They lived in the old Grainton Bank building while managing the Grainton Gas Station. Their next home was located on an acreage between Madrid and Elsie, where they raised chickens and cattle. After moving to Ogallala, she was employed at the Ogallala School Cafeteria and was a secretary for the First United Methodist Church. After receiving her real estate sales license, she worked for Cobb Reality until her retirement.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ogallala.
 
Jackie is survived by two daughters; Kathleen (David) Rollstin, Loveland Co, and Deborah Garska, Evans CO. A sister-in-law Janie Garska, Ogallala. Five granddaughters; Karrie Knapp, Hernando, FL, Katie (Rob) Fuller, Minot ND, Jessie Rollstin, Denver Co, Arian Campbell and Brandon McIntosh, Denver Co, Amber (Bobby) Alvarado, Longmont CO. A step-grandson Cameron (Kathy) Knapp, Ft Collins CO. Thirteen great grandchildren; Destiny Knapp, Hailey Pritchard, Tripp and Teage Fuller, Sierra Giles, Jasper Nelson, Kasmira and Analeese Alvarado, Johnny and Madison Alvarado, Jaxtyn Campbell, Lindsey and Sydney Knapp.
 
 She was preceded in death by her husband Max, four brothers; Orval and Delbert Fosbinder, Ernest and Kermit Fosbinder and two sisters; Bernice Teply and Uyvon Jackson.
