Jackie L. Hayes Sr., 78, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Franciscan Health of Indianapolis.
He was born August 26, 1943, in French Lick, to the late Cecil L. and Blanche M. (Knight) Hayes.
Jackie worked at Home Furniture for 25 years and then Col. John Anderson Furniture for 30 years before retiring.
Jackie enjoyed working in his yard, being a handyman, enjoying Elvis Presley music, spending time with his family and friends and playing with his favorite dog, Rosco.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving is a son, Jackie L. (wife Beth) Hayes, Jr. of Lafayette, a sister, Margie L. Longfellow of Lafayette, a brother, Harold Junior (wife Linda) Hayes of Bedford and a son-in-law- Wayne Richardson of Lafayette.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jeremy, Rebecca, Cassie, Zachary, Kyle and Trevor along with eight great grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia J. Hayes, a daughter, Angela Richardson and four sisters, Shirley M. Montgomery, Betty Ann Self, Joyce Lucille Roll and Delores J. Denham.
