Jackie Dale Walker, “Jack,” passed away Sept. 1, 2010 at home. He was born July 3, 1945 in Phoenix.
Mr. Walker was a lifelong resident of Arizona, and loved his home in Tonto Basin for the last 30 years.
He met his soulmate, Hazel, in 1963 and they were married in 1964.
Mr. Walker worked in the automotive parts industry for many years, and after moving to Tonto Basin, he found joy and a sense of accomplishment as the telephone technician, better known as the “telephone man” for all his neighbors and friends.
Jack loved his family, was a good friend and the best fishing buddy you could hope for. He will be missed by his wife of 45 years, Hazel of Tonto Basin; his mother, Jean Robinson of Tonto Basin; his sister, Pam Walker of Queen Creek; his daughters, Dawn Wiley (Darrell) of Puyallup, Wash. and Misty Valencia (Carlos) of Scottsdale; two grandsons, three granddaughters and one great-grandson. Also, inherited daughter, Lynne Householder (Joe)of Puyallup, Wash. and three extra inherited grandkids, as well as a whole host of friends and extended family.
Jack enjoyed spending time with this family and friends hunting, fishing, riding quads and occasionally singing a song for everyone on karaoke night at the Butcher Hook. He loved music and dancing, playing pool, teasing his kids and grandkids, and picking on anyone that was close enough to hear him.
