Jack Winston Williams, 86, of Birmingham, Alabama entered into God’s Heavenly Kingdom on Thursday July 30, 2020. Born in Alpine, Alabama to Joe Marion and Alma Jane, he was the oldest of four children, Class of 1952 graduate of Winterboro High School. He served in the United States Army in the Signal Corp. as an Instructor. He was a member of McElwain Baptist Church. As a lifelong steel guitar player, repairer, and builder, Jack played in numerous bands for over 50 years including “The Country Boy Eddie Show” and in 2011 was inducted into The Alabama Steel Guitar Association Hall of Fame. After 26 years as a broadcast engineer at Channel 13 (NBC) and 11 years with the Jefferson County Board of Education, he retired in 1996 and enjoyed spending time with family, playing steel guitar, and gardening. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe, mother, Alma, and brother, Bobby. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Delma Jo, sister Gloria and husband John Hilyer, sister Pat and husband Raymond Williamson, son Ken and wife Jeana of Dallas, TX, sons Greg and Jeff both of Birmingham, grandson Andy and wife Lauren of Sanger, TX, granddaughter Sarah and husband Ryan Butler of Franklin, TN, grandsons Brian and Tyler, granddaughter Ally of Birmingham and great-grandsons Oliver and Jack Butler.
