Jack William Moore died peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 4, 2018.  He was 90 years old.  Jack was born to Alden (Jack) and Vera Moore on February 6, 1928 in Sterling, Colorado.  He was the oldest of four siblings, growing up in Boulder, CO. 

 

Jack attended Whittier Elementary, Northside (Casey) Jr. High and Boulder High School, graduating in l946.  Growing up, Jack had a deep love for his dog Benny, and was very active in FFA (Future Farmers of America).

 

 

Jack proudly served his country in the Korean conflict, spending eleven months stationed in Pusan. He was always proud to be an American and always flew the flag at his home.

 

He was spent 40 years as a professional carpenter, building houses in the Boulder area.  In his spare time, he was a “Jack of all trades,” carving wooden fish, boats, airplanes, horses, reindeer and many more amazing creations.  Jack had a lifelong love of fishing and hunting.  He and Erma shared a love of nature.  He was also an avid fan of the Broncos and Rockies.    Jack had a love for Indian Art and anything signifying the Old West.  Jack was a member of the Elks Club in Boulder and Grand Junction.

 

Jack is survived by his wife Erma, his sister Jeanette Bell of Boulder (pictured with Jack above), nephew Ken Bell of East Greenwich, RI and his daughter Amy and husband Jay Cerro, granddaughters Kylie and Lila, son Kenny and wife Megan Bell, grandsons Camden and Jackson, niece Shauna Moore of Lawrence, KS, and niece Maela Moore of Lafayette, CO and her family, Ashley and Shawn.

 

Jack is also survived by nephew Jim and wife Anita Tobaben of Topeka, KS, son Nicholas and wife Lauren, and grandson Nathan; son Eric and Laura Stadler-Tobaben, and son Matthew Tobaben. He is also survived by nephew Warren and wife Carolyn Tobaben of Overland Park, KS, and children Trevor, Peter, Katie, Jonathan and Curtis.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Vera Moore, sister June Teegarden, and brother Robert Moore.
