Jack Eugene Troutman, 77, of Statesville, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at his home.

He was born in Iredell County on December 27, 1932, to the late Reuben and Dorothy Gilleland Troutman. He was a veteran of the Korean War and after military service, worked as an upholsterer in the furniture industry for 35 years. He retired from the Iredell County School system.

Mr. Troutman was a member of Fallstown Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who family and friends will truly miss.

Mr. Troutman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eva Sitton; three sons, Michael Troutman, the Rev. David (Susan) Troutman and Jackie “Cotton” Troutman; eight grandchildren, Michael Troutman, Jana (Jason) Troutman Overcash, Jake (Stephanie) Troutman, Jennifer (Andy) Troutman Dela Cruz, Dana (Shane) Troutman Deyton, Adam Troutman, Joshua (Heather) Troutman and Justin Troutman; six great grandchildren, Ashleigh Overcash, Zack Overcash, Olivia Deyton and Draven, Savannah, and Isabella Dela Cruz; an additional great grandchild due in September; one sister, Jane (Bill) Troutman McDaniels of Statesville; one brother, Billy Ray (Anna) Troutman of Kernersville; and one sister-in-law, Sylvia Troutman of Statesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Lee Troutman.
