Jack Phillip Martin Jr., 54, of Whiteland, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in Whiteland. He was born on November 26, 1962, in Beech Grove, to his parents Jack Sr. and Janie (Hansen) Martin. Jack graduated from Brown County High School, in 1981. He married Margaret Williams on December 8, 1993; they were happily married for 23 years.
He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army. Jack owned his own heating & cooling companies, for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones; they were his world. He loved his grandchildren, and he was known as “Papaw Jack”. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, cooking & baking, sports, camping, everything trivia, and was a computer solitaire champion.
Jack is survived by his wife, Margaret Martin of Whiteland, his children, Jacquelyn “Nikki” (Matt Breen) Martin, Tiffany (Josh) Pfaffenberger, Paul (Debi Tingle) Martin, and Nathan (Amber) Gabehart all of Greenwood, his father, Jack (Jamie Marlow) Martin Sr. of Florida, his siblings, Maria (Tracy) Stein of Indianapolis, Joe (Nancy) Martin, and Chris (Stephanie) Martin both of Greenwood, Jason (Misty) Owens of Martinsville, fourteen grandchildren: Vanessa, Christian, Brayden, Dalton, Keagan, Maggie, Jackson, Jecht, Cory, Isabel, Kieran, Maverich, Liam, and Daxson, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Freeman, and a sister, April Kay Martin.
