Jack Frohling, the son of Henry and Gladys (Bolger) Frohling was born December 19, 1924 in Webster City. He was raised and educated in Mallard, graduating from the Mallard High School in 1942. He also attended one year at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. He entered the Army in 1942 serving in the Philippines and Japan, and was honorably discharged in 1946.
On December 7, 1952 he was united in marriage with Suzann Froh at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard. Jack was a farmer, carpenter and served many years as the custodian for Trinity Lutheran in Mallard.
Survivors include his children, Thomas (Kerry) of Castaic, California, Michael (Jess) of Carbondale, Illinois and Catherine(Craig) Petersen of Boone, IA,five grandchildren, brothers Merlin of Panora, IA,and James of Bristol Virginia, sister Florence Warnke of Jackson, Minnesota, 1/2 brother Lonnie Frohling of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and 1/2 sister Jeanine Jorgenson of Hooper, Nebraska.
Jack was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Mallard American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Suzann, son John, brother Michael and a brother in infancy, sister Marian and his stepmother, Florence
