Mr. Jack Eugene Morrison, 88, of Galesburg, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at home.Jack was born October 30, 1924 in Galesburg, the son of Elic and Eleanor (Morrisey) Morrison.

He married Betty J. Young on May 15, 1946 in Galesburg. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty of Galesburg; two sons, Philip (and Patti) and Kevin (and Rose) both of Galesburg; two daughters, Linda Gerard of West Virginia and Patricia Wyatt of Galesburg; 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by one son James Michael Morrison in 2000; a brother, Donald Morrison; and a sister, Barbara Hix. Jack was born and raised in Galesburg and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1942. He entered in to the US Navy on April 19, 1943 serving on PT boat 211. While he was in the Navy, Jack earned the American Area Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, European, African, Middle Eastern Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one star, and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.  He completed his service in the Navy on March 17, 1946.

After returning to Galesburg, Jack worked for Gale Products as a tool and die maker for 32 years, retiring in 1979. After retirement he and Betty moved to the Lake of the Ozarks for 15 years, where they enjoyed the water and fishing. They travelled all over the US and spent many winters in Texas. Jack and Betty were avid square and round dancers. Jack was also a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Jack was an excellent craftsman, having renovated the family home. He also enjoyed working on cars.
