Jack L.
Jack was born in Portland on October 19, 1932, to Harry E. and Mildred (Haltermon) Wilson. He was a 1950 graduate of Cowan H.S. and attended Ball State. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
Jack worked as the operations director at the Muncie Mall. Other jobs included Delco, Muncie Police Reserves, H & R Block, Ball Hospital, and bus driver for Delaware County schools.
Jack had countless friends, and he was a father figure to many. He was the kind of dad his kids’ friends wished they had. He was very intelligent and well-read and could have been a Jeopardy champion. He was passionate about music. He loved Pavarotti, Mahalia Jackson, Irish tenors, Ray Price, and many more. His favorite musicians were his son, Kevin, and grand-daughter, Kaitlin. He was a 50-year member of Circus Fans of America, and took many people to their first circus. He could give a guided tour of the Dayton Air Force Museum. He had a great sense of humor and loved practical jokes.
He was a man of integrity and honor. He was tender-hearted. He treated everyone with kindness and respect. He loved his wife, Cec, with all of his heart. She was his best friend. He was his kids’ and grandkid’s biggest fans.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Cecile (Morgan) Wilson; one son, Kevin Wilson, Muncie; two daughters, Lori (Hank) Riley, Avon, and Susan (Bobby) Willbanks, Monticello; eight grandchildren, Josh Thompson, Muncie; April (Rick) Grill, Greenfield; Jon (Crystal) Wilson, Muncie; Kyle Quirk, Texas; Drew Quirk, Avon; Kaitlin Willbanks, Monticello; Emily Riley, Seymour; Henry Riley, Seymour; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harry E. Wilson, Jr., and by numerous relatives and close friends, including his beloved Buddy Dog.
