Jack H. Couch, Sr. of Newnan died on Saturday, January 8, 2011, two weeks before his 89th birthday. He and his beloved wife of 65 years, Johnsie, had been residents of Georgian Place, Newnan, since April, 2009. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was an executive with General Motors, Pontiac Division, for 30 years prior to retirement and lived in Miami, Atlanta, Birmingham, Valdosta, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Waycross before coming to Newnan. He was a builder and a dreamer who devoted all of his spare time to his wife and family. He is survived by his wife Johnsie Peavy Couch, Newnan; son Jack H. Couch, Jr., Greenville, GA; daughter Susan C. Carson, Johns Creek, GA; grandchildren Joshua J.E. Couch (wife Kate), Costa Mesa, CA; H. Jason Couch (wife Candace), Alpharetta, GA; Justin D. Couch, Washington, D.C.; Valerie E. Carson, Norcross, GA; Alex M. Carson, Jacksonville, AL; great-grandchildren Karis Couch and Emily Couch, Costa Mesa, CA; nephews Tom Adams (wife Sue) Luthersville, GA, Harris Couch (wife Amanda), Powder Springs, GA, niece Barbara Anne Barnett, Arlington,TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Anne Park Couch, and by his brother and sister, W.W. Couch and Nell Adams.
