Muncie-Jack D. Gommel Jr, 53, passed away Saturday evening, September 10, 2011, following an brief illness. He was born on, November 23, 1957, in Franklin, Indiana, the son of Jack and Mary (Konkle) Gommel Sr.
Jack married Holly (Guinn) on April 27, 1997 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and she survives. Jack had worked for his father in the Gommel’s Meat Market for many years prior to working for Duffy Manufacturing and later for Dunn EZ Products.
Besides his wife of 14 years, Holly, he is survived by two daughters, Chasity Evans (husband-Adam), and Amy Gommel (fiancé- Bob Jessie), both of Muncie; six grandchildren, Madeline Evans, Gracie Evans, Elijah Jessie, Hayden Evans, Parker D. Evans and Caleb Jessie all of Muncie; His parents, Jack and Mary Gommel, Muncie; two brothers , Tim Gommel (wife-Vickie), Yorktown and Brian Gommel (companion-Melissa), Muncie; grandmother, Elizabeth McLemore, Bowling Green, Kentucky; one niece, Jamie Tapley(husband-Jon), Muncie; two nephews, Craig Gommel (wife-April) and Austin Gommel, both of Muncie; Mother of Chasity and Amy , Sandy Slentz, Modoc; father-in-law, James Guinn, Yorktown; Brother-in-law, Gregg Guinn (wife-Diana), Dunkirk.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Jean Guinn.
