Jack Brown Jr.

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Jack Brown Jr, passed away on April 14, 2016. He was born on September 28, 1948 in Quintin, Mississippi to Jack and Rosie Hall Brown.

Jack married his sweetheart, Vivian Owens, on December 8, 1969.

His denomination was Baptist.

Jack worked 35 years for the State of Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) as a supervisor.

Jack enjoyed fishing, cooking, football, softball and basketball. His favorite teams were the Utah Jazz and New England Patriots. He enjoyed cooking for his family, but his specialty was barbequing.

Jack Brown Jr. graduated from Ogden High School Class of 1967. He played football on Ogden High’s 1966 state championship team. He received a scholarship to Arizona Western Junior College and attended Weber State University where he was named first team All-Conference his senior year.

He was inducted into the 2016 Ogden High School Hall of Fame on February 5, 2016.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian and his sisters, Judy Davis and husband Charles of Denver, Colorado and JoAnne Coates and her husband Calvin of South Dakota; his loving uncle Nathaniel Hall and his wife Ida Mae of Layton Utah; 7 children, Alsie Snelling and her husband Cleo of Gilbert Arizona, Nyler Ables and her husband Clyde of Ogden, Utah, Melvin Jones and his wife Roxanne of Phoenix, Arizona, Nyalsha Ayers and her husband Isaiah of Phoenix, Arizona, Vivian Wright of Phoenix, Arizona and Charles Keller of Ogden, Utah; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded by his parents Jack and Rosie Hall; his brother Roosevelt Brown and his daughter Shalese Jones.
